| Role Summary |
| The Draftsman is responsible for preparing, revising, and maintaining detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and 3D models based on design specifications, sketches, and instructions provided by engineers or architects. The role ensures all drawings comply with company and industry standards and are suitable for manufacturing, construction, or fabrication purposes. The Draftsman works closely with engineering and project teams to support the design, development, and documentation of technical deliverables throughout all project phases. |
| Key Responsibilities |
| • Prepare 2D and 3D engineering drawings, plans, and layouts from design data and specifications. • Update and revise drawings according to design changes or engineering feedback. • Ensure all drawings comply with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications. • Maintain proper document numbering, version control, and drawing registers. • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to ensure accuracy and design intent. • Prepare as-built drawings after construction or fabrication completion. • Support technical documentation by preparing bill of materials (BOM) or drawing lists as required. • Check dimensions, materials, and technical details to ensure drawing completeness and accuracy. • Ensure timely submission of drawings in accordance with project schedules. • Maintain drawing archives and backups according to company data management procedures. |
| Education & Qualifications |
| Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Naval Architecture, or Mechanical Design (depending on discipline). Certification or training in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or other CAD software. Knowledge of engineering drawing principles, dimensioning standards, and fabrication practices. Minimum 3 years of experience in offshore/marine construction or oil & gas drafting works. |
| Skills & Competencies |
| • Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar). • Understanding of technical drawings, tolerances, and materials. • Ability to prepare detailed fabrication, assembly, or construction drawings. • Familiarity with 3D modeling and rendering techniques. • Knowledge of relevant standards (ISO, ASME, API, or classification society rules). • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Effective communication and teamwork abilities. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. • Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools or standards. |
