Building momentum in India
Algihaz Marine Contractors (AMC) is currently delivering a major offshore pipeline replacement and facilities modification project offshore India, supporting the upgrade and maintenance of critical energy infrastructure. Representing AMC’s first major project in the country, the scope includes offshore pipeline installation, topsides modifications, hookup works, subsea construction and commissioning support.
Since offshore activities commenced, the project has continued to progress steadily, with several important installation milestones already achieved. Careful planning, close coordination between offshore and onshore teams, and a disciplined approach to execution have helped keep multiple workstreams moving safely and efficiently.
A significant achievement during the first phase of the project was the successful completion of a 12-inch pipeline installation campaign, followed by the commencement of 14-inch pipeline installation activities. Multiple specialist vessels have supported the programme, including pipelay, diving and accommodation assets, demonstrating the scale and complexity of the offshore scope.

Supporting these activities is AMC’s growing Mumbai operation, which has expanded rapidly over the past year. The office is now fully established and registered, with a team of more than 45 employees providing engineering, project management, planning, procurement and operational support. The team will shortly relocate to a permanent office as AMC continues to strengthen its presence in the region.
As offshore activity pauses during the monsoon season, planning for the next campaign is already well underway. Workshops are being held across the project team to capture lessons learned from the first phase of execution and identify opportunities for further improvement. This process is helping ensure that future activities are delivered even more efficiently, while maintaining AMC’s focus on safety, quality and operational discipline.

Looking ahead, the next phase of the programme is expected to involve the installation of approximately 260 kilometres of offshore pipeline, supported by a large fleet of pipelay, diving, and platform-modification vessels operating between late 2026 and early 2027.
The project also continues to support the development of AMC’s wider capabilities in the region. Beyond offshore installation, the scope has provided opportunities to execute topsides modifications, subsea construction and complex marine coordination activities, broadening the company’s experience and delivery capability in one of the world’s most active offshore energy markets.
With planning progressing well and a growing team in place, AMC remains focused on delivering the next phase of work safely, efficiently and in close partnership with its clients and contractors.
